I did extensive research a few years ago that resulted in an article in the Autumn 2001 "Colorado Heritage" for those interested in knowing more about the story. With the article as my base, I am beginning to expand the narrative to first develop a website (for my Masters' Thesis) then a documentary film and looking for anyone who might have had a family member experience the flood anywhere in Boulder County. So many communities were severely damaged or destroyed, not just the town of Boulder. If anyone has any family stories that have been passed down, or diaries realting to this event I would be very interested in talking with you. There are not many diaries/oral histories to be found at the Carnegie Library and my interests lie around getting more "first person" views and reactions to the disaster both during the event and anyone who was a part of the rebiulding of the towns. While being a Boulder native, I currently reside 2000 miles away, so I cannot be reached locally. However, I will be in Boulder on a research trip sometime this summer and would be happy to discuss any findings in person. In the meantime, you may contact me at mlambrecht@mac.com with any questions, comments, or information. Thank you very much in advance.
