The team of university professors and students will be working to preserve the history of the family in early 20th Century southern Colorado and the impact that life in the camps had on children. Dr. Vernon L. Williams, professor of history at Abilene Christian University, and Dr. Lynn M. Burlbaw, professor of history education at Texas A&M University, will direct the project. If you lived in one of the camps or attended one of the many mining town schools which operated in Las Animas or Huerfano counties between 1900 and 1945, please contact Dr. Vernon L. Williams, ACU Box 28130, Abilene, Texas 79699 or email him at vwilliams@acu.edu.
