Dorothy, Am just now getting back into the hobby after burning myself out a few years ago. Have copies of some wonderful books of newspaper extracts that Mary McRoberts did in 1991. They cover the period 1859-1900 and one is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Marriages, Anniversaries, Divorces, Births and Birthdays / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co/ July 1991" And the other is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Deaths and the Insane / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co / July 1991" I trust her extracts but beware of my typing. Hope I'm accurate. Found the following entries - 1. For Benjamin Long found only this in the obits book -"Long, Nancy Elizabeth d 31 Jan 1877 near Boulder. Age 1 year 12 days. Dau of Benjamin & Elizabeth Long. (CN 2 Feb 1877:2)" [CN is for "Boulder County News"]. 2. For the Morehead/Moorhead - we may be in the wrong state. I found the marriage announcement for Mary - says she was married "at home of brides parents near Boulder." There were a number of entries for brothers Frank and (John) Lawrence Moorhead who appear to be of the same age as Mary. Then there was this entry in the obits - "Moorhead, Mr. d 1 May 1885 Montgomery, MO. His son J.L. Moorhead of Boulder left Boulder 1 May to see his dying father." 3. For Derr - in the obits - "Derr, Margaret Alice 'Maggie' d. 11 Feb 1899 Boulder from pneumonia. Wife of John Derr. Leaves husband and 5 children, the oldest age 17 and the youngest a little over 2 years. Bur Boulder." [note - they lost another child - "Johnnie" - in 1895] Hope this helps David Knowles
