Surnames: DOTY, PENROSE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XY.2ADE/802 Message Board Post: For several years I've been searching for death location and date for my great-grandmother, Elsie Penrose DOTY. She was divorced from E. N. Doty between 1910 and 1920 in Iowa. We do not know whether she remarried. One family researcher says she died in Colorado, date unknown. In the Social Security death index, there is an Elsie HOLDEN, b. 22 Jul 1874, d. Apr 1969 in Boulder, CO. My Elsie was born 25 Jul 1874, in KS. This is the only Elsie with a Jul 1874 birth date in the Social Security database. If I can locate Elsie HOLDEN's obituary, it should tell me whether she was our lost great-grandmother. If anyone knows how to locate the obituary, please let me know. Thanks!

I am wondering if perhaps there are some obituaries in existence for Boulder from the early 1900's? My great-great-grandfather, Henderson Ramsey, died at Boulder Creek November 9, 1903 and was buried at Boulder City Cemetery. The record of his burial leaves me puzzled, as the person who paid for the burial has no known relation to my gg-grandfather. That same person inherited a small piece of land my gg-grandfather had owned near Boulder Creek, as well. Am hoping an obit might shed some light on who this mystery person was and why family did not inherit the land.

    1. Obit lookup? - M. F. Cunningham (1849-1915)
    2. Hello, I would very much appreciate it if someone out there could look up an obituary for Milford Francis 'Frank' Cunningham who died on 31 January 1915, and is buried at Columbia cemetery in Boulder (wife was Mary E. Hollingshead). He actually died in Erie, Weld Co., CO, but had lived many years in Boulder, so there may be an obituary. I'm especially interested in learning if his daughter Myrtle (born June 1887, KS) was married, since I can find no census records for her. We do have an obit for Milford from Anderson Co., Kansas, where he lived before moving to Boulder, and it was a great help for two of his children (Estella and Oliver), but it fails to give a surname for Myrtle, even though it says she lived in Boulder then. Happy to do lookups here in Santa Cruz County, CA...! Thank you, Leah

He was born Sept. 27, 1988, in Longmont. Scott played soccer and baseball and ran cross country for the Skyline High School teams. He attended Longmont schools and was a ninth-grader at Longmont Christian School. Scott worked last summer at the Boulder County Youth Corps; was a seven-year member of 4-H, most recently the Twin Peaks Fur and Feathers Club; was actively involved in drama; and was very involved with computers. He created his own Web site for 4-H. Scott loved computer games and was very happy to explain all the details to anyone who would listen. He had a thirst for knowledge and read voraciously. He taught himself to read at age 4. Scott had an inquisitive mind about how anything and everything worked. He was always asking questions. There wasn’t an owner’s manual he didn’t love. Scott was a loving, caring and happy son, brother and friend. He had a gift for making people laugh. He had a love for God and a pure Christian soul. Even though he had to endure more than other children, he did it all with a smile on his face. He was satisfied with what he was given and never asked for more. Scott touched a lot of people with his joy and his innocence. His organs were donated according to his wishes. Scott is survived by his parents, Dave and Wendy Reed; his sister, Michelle of Longmont; his grandmother, Virginia Channell of Loveland; his grandfather, Kenneth Reed of Longmont; uncle Gregg Channell and wife Theresa; aunt Christy Taylor and husband Chauncey of Loveland; and numerous other uncles, aunts and cousins. The problem is I do not have a death date. I knew that some libraries and groups keep local files of obits and was hoping that might be the case in Boulder to check this fellow. I suspect he is a man who was born in Kansas at the same time as my George Cochren . There are two there of roughly the same age; one line comes from Reno Co., Ks and Delaware Co., Ind; the other from Dodge City, KS, a different part of Indiana and Knox Co., OH. They have similar names but so far I have been unable to connect the two groups - so a lot of confusion for some researchers. Thanks again. Thanks.

    1. CRUTHERS Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Myrtle CRUTHERS which was taken at the G.W. Stiffler Studio in Longmont, Colorado. The photograph was probably taken in the 1880's with Myrtle appearing to be about 4 years old at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of Myrtle Saphronia CRUTHERS b. 1 May 1881 at Sempronius, New York to parents Dorr Martin CRUTHERS and Miranda Alameda CADY and died 18 Jun 1962 at Boulder, Colorado. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
