    1. Minister Marquis Hornbeck
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hornbeck Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XY.2ADE/809.1 Message Board Post: Kristina, In the 1900 census, there is a minister named Marquis Hornbeck living at 1406 Pine Street in Boulder. See Enumeration District 160 Sheet 4A. This would be across the street from St. John's Episcopal Church (http://www.stjohns-boulder.org/). I just spoke with Diane in their office, and she says that there was definitely not an M. Hornbeck associated with St. John's around 1897. Also, their rectory would have had an odd house number since they're on the south side of Pine. I was impressed that she knew this right away! The next closest church is this one: First United Methodist Church 14th & Spruce Boulder, CO 80301-4814 Phone: (303) 442-3770 http://www.fumcboulder.org/ Lindsey in their office can't quite rattle off 100-year-old church history, but she thinks Rev. Hornbeck may have been from their church because they own the whole block (Spruce is one block north of Pine) and had several old houses on the property. She is going to look at some records and call me back. Best of luck, Karen Lowe Boulder, CO

    1. Need help to find a church record Sheaffer to Disbrow
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sheaffer; Disbrow Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XY.2ADE/809 Message Board Post: I've been stumped on finding the father of an ancestor, so I need some help to see if any church records exist, the only problem is I don't know which church. Here's what I have. I'm hoping that the church might have more recrods. Roy Alfred Sheaffer married Addie May Disbrow Sept 1, 1897 in Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado. They were married by a Cleryman. So I'm thinking they were married in a church. The cleryman's name is M.D. Hornback(not sure on last name, can't find a similiar name in the 1880 census) I've attached a copy of the license. Does the Clergyman's name or a similiarty ring anything for anyone? So I might find an affiliation at least Witness's were Charles & Florence Disbrow (her brother and sister) Royal was born in about 1875, the problem is he was the first born son and by the 1880 census is father had already died. He had one sister Clare/Clara. His death certificate does not list parents names either. I got lucky and his mother was buried next to him in the cemetery and his internment record made reference to her.. Taylor county has no record of a marriage for her there to a Sheaffer.. only the Flummer one, and her obituary makes no mention of it either, and neither does her death certificate. She was a teacher for 22 years so also trying to find her teaching records Royal's mother was Elizabeth Crawford (Sheaffer, Flummer, Pettit 3 husbands) and I've managed to trace her further back. She came from Abingdon, Illinois. from what I know Royal was born in Iowa. The 1880 Census has them in Clayton, Taylor County, Iowa.

Surnames: Beckett, Mills Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XY.2ADE/808.1 Message Board Post: Kristi, If you go to http://www.co.boulder.co.us/clerk/recording/icris/icris-index.htm and search for BECKETT JOHN you'll find this recorded document. Instrument Number: 90170751 Document Code: Marriage Certificate Recording Date: 01/17/1922 Book: 449 Page: 317 BECKETT JOHN MILLS MINNIE Notes: 01-16-22 [This may be the date of marriage - Karen] You should be able to figure out how to order copies here: http://www.co.boulder.co.us/clerk/recording/index.htm I believe the marriage copies cost $3.00. Also, for what it's worth, the only Cozad record I found in the iCRIS database mentions a Cozad Auto Co. in 1925. Good luck! - Karen

I had heard that they we're trying to raise funds to exhume her, but I hadn't heard anything since. It would be great if she could be reunited with her loved ones after all these years. I heard she could be as young as 12-14 years old. It's hard to believe nobody has missed her. Or maybe someone has, and just didn't know what to do, thinking maybe she just went off to be on her own. Happens all the time. So many people are never reported missing, as families a lot of times think they just ran away and don't want to be found. I've no doubt that's why we have so many unidentified persons in this world. Please keep me posted if they find anything out on her. Thanks, Jo
