Hi Everyone- Please excuse this slightly off topic subject, but I wanted to share this with you. Last Tuesday my husband Jim and I were planning a brief get away to some warm sun, when another snow storm hit Connecticut and closed the airport at Hartford canceling our flight. Attempts to reschedule another flight on subsequent days failed and we resigned ourselves to being at home. We are having some renovations done to the exterior of our home which included replacing the attic windows. Last night in a heavy rain and wind storm, a new attic window which was not locked, blew open (it is the type that swings in for easy cleaning and swing in it did)! At 4:30 a.m., we hear the sound of plop, plop, plop, (notice that I did not say drip). Jumping out of bed to find water making its way through the ceiling to the second floor directly over my computer work area. Grabbing bath towels we attempted to mop up as much water as we could before any further damage could be done. This was a major leak! Hardest hit were my research books and fabric covered computer chair, but spared in the nick of time was the scanner, printer and computer and.....my paper files containing Coble/Kobel research which were spread out on the work space. As Jim continued to mop up and I used a hair dryer to dry my water logged books, we both realized how lucky we were to be at home when this happened. Had we been away, we would not have returned until tomorrow and the storm continued for another six hours so I can't imagine what kind of mess we could have had on our hands. Lucky us! I guess there is a reason for everything. Jean
