I have received some very positive feedback from list members regarding the recommendations set by NGS for sound genealogical research. Thank you for your comments. Genealogy is a serious business. Hearsay is dangerous as it only perpetuates inaccurate facts, proof is essential. Let's set our own standards for posting to this list. Please, always include your sources when offering information. Where did the information come from? Census records; LDS library; published birth, death and marriage records; immigration records; published family histories; or secondary sources such as websites. Whatever the source, be sure to give it. When replying to someone's post do not hit the reply tab. Address a new message, place the subject in the subject line and if necessary copy and paste the subject of the message in the body of the message area. Each and every message is archived so it is important that the subject line reflects the message. By hitting the reply button the original message is repeated over and over, wasting valuable storage space in the Rootsweb archives. Thank you, Jean Kobel and Coble list manager
