    3. Jannine, Thanks for your response. As you can tell from my posting I have yet to find the references to specific primary documentation of the German records. Everything that I have refers to the data from others. I just can't get back to the sources. There is a great deal of data out that indicates that someone, sometime, had to have had direct access to primary German sources. I will keep looking. I'm sorry but I looked through my Coble research folder and do not see any documents that you might have sent. In addition, I don't recall seeing any. Please send the materials that you have in mind that bear upon this search. I'm sorry if you are sending it again! My address is: 608 Hovey Way/Roseville, CA 95678 Thanks again...........Larry Coble PS: I have not forgotten about my promise to get an article for the newsletter to you about Jacob Kobel and the founding of Cobleskill, NY. 3. Dear Coble researchers, I continue to search for the originial documentation of the Coble/Kobel family name in Germany and have reviewed most of the data on the descendants of Albrecht Kobel that has been posted both in RootsWeb-WorldConnect and Family Tree Maker-World Family Tree. In addition, I have both articles by Shirley Turner on the Kobel family in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly but they too do not refer to original German documentation. The details provided by these references indicates that someone has reviewed the original records. So far everything that I have found has referenced other researchers and not the original documentation. What I am looking for is specific references to birth, baptism, marriage, death, etc. in the original German church or civil documentation. From the available information this would seemingly be from the communities of Ulm, Oberdorf, Donauwörth, Nördlingen, and Hoffenheim. I am in the early planning stages of a trip to Germany next year and hope to review some of this material. If anyone can provide some assistance in this quest I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!...........Larry Coble

They were wed 12/23/1822. They lived in Lancaster co and are buried at the Clearfield Methodist cemetery in southern Lancaster co. I am seeking info on the origins of either family. I have not found Terisa listed in wills or deeds in Lancaster co. Terisa seems to be an unusual name as I have seen no other Bakers in Lancaster co. with that name. This info was listed in Elias' Bible. They had many children one of whom was martin COBLE b1825 wed to Maria RESSEL. Also seeking info on Maria RESSEL's grandparents-Michael RESSEL wed to Mary STEDMAN/Stehman 11/26/1777-10/28/1866. There is a Michael RUSSEL/RESSEL owned land in Lampeter, Lancaster co. who died in 1737. Patent #25 6/1718. (where do you go to view a patent?) He could be Michael's father. John Christopher RUSSEL of Bart twp. Lancaster co. lists Michael RESSEL as receiving cash from accounts so I believe that my Michael RESSEL was RUSSEL. There are a slew of Little Britain and Bart RUSSEL families. Help. 3. ----- Original Message ----- From: <LFYdogwood@aol.com> To: <NC-FRIEDENSCHURCH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 03, 2000 10:04 PM Subject: [NC-FRIEDENSCHURCH] GUILFORD COUNTY, NC- 1760's GERMAN NATURALIZATIONS This information was shared on the Rowan Roots list by Betty Pace. I see many of the names of German families of the early Friedens Church listed below. I previously mentioned that I had found a similar record on file in Elizabeth City, NC records posted on the internet. I now believe that the oath must have taken place in Salisbury ( based on this second identical record that contains more detail) I believe that the records of the naturalizations that took place in the Salisbury NC Superier Court must have been collected in the colony records that were later moved to Elizabeth City. My ancester Jacob Boon is shown in the Sept.22, 1763 group. Jacob Martin Boon (Sr.) was married to a Mary Albright. Does anyone know if the "Lodaweek Albright" shown on the March 22, 1763 list could have been the father of Martin's wife Mary Albright? (I do not have her parents names.) Also note the Cobbel, Summers, Clapp, Sharpe family connections in the list. FROM GUILFORD CO., NC DIGITAL BITS AND ENDS LINK ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- -- The following people (mostly German speaking) were naturalized in the Superior Court at Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC in the 1760s. Many of these were residents of the western part of Orange County. It seems that Salisbury was more convenient that Hillsborough. There was probably less language barrier, also. There is a typed abstract of the minutes in the Rowan Public Library in Salisbury. This information came from that abstract. The spelling of names is as it was in the abstract. The comment in (parentheses) are from the typed abstract. SUPERIOR COURT MINUTES page 597 - 22 March 1763 - Naturalized (German): John Graves, Peter Noe, Anthony Cobble, George Fogleman, Lodaweek Clap, Peter Poor, Lodoweek Swing, Lodaweek Albright, Daniel May, Isaac Creson, George Ingle, Jacob Feazer, Valentine Lingle (or Long?), Jacob Brown, George Bruner, Henry Bruner. page 598 - 22 Sept. 1763 - Natives of Germany Naturalized: Paul Harrison, Nicholas Coom, Michael Sting, George Cobell, Jacob Cobell, Adam Cobell, Andrew Rudolph, Jacob Hambell, Joseph Stailey(?), John Nutt(?), Phillip Kinse(?)(Kimes Editor), Frederick Brown, Adam Smith, Peter Kewett (Kevett Ed.), Gasper Bare, Adam Moser, Christian Morriss, George Valentine Clap, Conrad Lowe, Jacob Boon, Malekiah Isely, Malekiah Fogleman, Michael Charles, David Spike, Gasper Smith, David Smith, Henry Gardner, Leonard Kearn, Frederick Smith, William Frank, John Leopard, Frederick Fisher, Coonrod Bullen, Barnett Michel, Coonrod Mickael, Michael Brown, Lawrence Lingle, Jacob Fullwider, John Bussard, Henry Furrow, George Real (or Rial), Michael Coon (note in pencil: Not Koontz), Phillip Wiser, Leonard Miller, Peter Tinker, Michel Younger, Hannis Lopp. page 598 - 22 Mar 1764 - Naturalized as natives of Germany: Charles Bassinger, Phillip Sower, Jacob Sink, Jacob Harrion(?), Peter Raim, Peter Cain, Thomas Rich, Coonrod Carn. page 599 - 22 Sept. 1764 - Natives of Germany Naturalized: Martin Loye, Coonrod Stoner, George Sharpe, Henry Sharpe, Coonrod Salor, Henry Kerma(I question this name.
