Hello- To all those that I sent the photo to, please let me know if you successfully opened it. There are two people who are having trouble doing just that and I want to make sure that there are not other frustrated people out there. :-) To those of you who have written and thanked me, you are most welcome! Thank you, Jean

Probably should have identified Jacob, but since he is so "famous" :-) I neglected to tell you that he is the Jacob Kobel 1682-1731 who arrived in America in 1710 from the Palatine and married Anna Maria. Jean
I have a color photograph of a plaque commemorating the Bicentennial of Cobleskill, N. Y. and honoring Jacob Kobel. I will be happy to send this to anyone who would like a copy. Rootsweb does not allow attachments sent, so just send an email to me at JEANFAZZ@aol.com Please put Jacob Kobel in the subject line. I will wait until I accumulate a few takers so you may not receive it for a several days. Enjoy! Jean Kobel and Coble list manager
I have spent a good deal of time today going through my paper files trying to find additional information on Antonius Coble who married Anna Maria EMIG and Anthony Coble who married Barbara SUMMERS and I have so further information to offer. But, if you read Diana and Zelma's message I believe that they had answered your questions. There are two Anthony Coble's. One born in 1717 and one born in 1788. I did a quick check on www.worldconnect.rootsweb.com for EMIG and SUMMERS and found much information there. EMIG http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi SUMMERS http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=rotert6&id=I2970 Be sure to click on the Ahenetafel report at the bottom of the page for this one. Takes you back many generations. For Henry Clay COBLE, go to http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi Jannine-you said that you have Henry Clay Coble as the s/o Adam Coble and Maria Polly Summers of Lincoln County, TN. Can you tell us what you have and references to your information so that those interested in this line can be helped? I do hope that this helps. Jean Kobel and Coble list manager
For those of you who have this line..... http://www.my-ged.com/db/page/milukas/5464 Jean
Jannine, I also have HENRY CLAY COBLE as son of ADAM 'ANTHONY' COBLE and MARIA ' "POLLY' BARBARA SUMMERS of Lincoln County, Tn. Mary E.
Jean, I have ADAM GEORG COBLE , b.1727, Baden, Ger. was the younger brother of ANTONIUS 'ANTHONY' COBLE, B. 1717. ADAM GEORGE , 1727,m. Anna Margaretha Loffel-Spoon, May 13, 1754, in Lancaster, Pa. Their 7th child was ADAM COBLE, b.1768, Orange Co., NC. This ADAM 'ANTHONY' COBLE, 1768, married MARIA BARBARA SUMMERS, who was born May 28, 1788, therefore she could not have married Antonius Coble in 1740. This is from LDS FILE on the net. Mary E. (Coble Granddaughter) My grandmother was Letha Ann Coble, daughter of HENRY BONAPARTE COBLE, granddaughter of HENRY CLAY COBLE, (B. dEC. 16, Lincoln Co. Tn.), gggrandaughter of ADAM ' ANTHONY COBLE & MARIA BARBARA SUMMERS.
I have received some very positive feedback from list members regarding the recommendations set by NGS for sound genealogical research. Thank you for your comments. Genealogy is a serious business. Hearsay is dangerous as it only perpetuates inaccurate facts, proof is essential. Let's set our own standards for posting to this list. Please, always include your sources when offering information. Where did the information come from? Census records; LDS library; published birth, death and marriage records; immigration records; published family histories; or secondary sources such as websites. Whatever the source, be sure to give it. When replying to someone's post do not hit the reply tab. Address a new message, place the subject in the subject line and if necessary copy and paste the subject of the message in the body of the message area. Each and every message is archived so it is important that the subject line reflects the message. By hitting the reply button the original message is repeated over and over, wasting valuable storage space in the Rootsweb archives. Thank you, Jean Kobel and Coble list manager
Thank you for your interest and effort in this matter. I am descended from this line and I have information gathered from the internet that he was married to Anna Maria Emig and also have received information that he was married to Maria Barbara Summers. Could he have had two wives? If so, who was the mother of his children. I am descended from his child, David, and his grandson, Samuel. Thank you trying to clarify this matter.
