Hello, Nan. I am on the COATS list but rarely receive a message from anyone subscribed to it. I have COATS in Caldwell Co., MO who I believe came from OH. John Wesley COATS b. 1823 OH and d. abt. 1900 MO. He m. Sarah STRAUSBURG abt. 1847 probably in OH. Sarah d. abt. 1895 in MO. They had at least one child (I'm sure they had more) named Isabella COATS b. Sept. 20, 1849 in OH and d. Oct. 5, 1935 in MO. Isabella spent her life in OH, IA and MO so maybe her parents were in IA at some point as well. Isabella COATS m. Willis CLARK (b. Nov. 21, 1845 TN, d. May 1, 1930 MO) on July 28, 1870 in Caldwell Co., MO.
