Char ----- Original Message ----- From: Valeria Wigington Sent: Friday, February 02, 2001 8:34 AM To: Charlotte Coats; JCoats5982@aol.com Subject: Gaunt Answer: Mary GAUNT married Capt. Wright COATES. Mary was the daughter of Isreal GAUNT & & Hannah SPENCER Ennis GAUNT. So Mary was a half sister of Susannah ENNIS who married "Little" John COATES. I can cut & paste my notes from PAF but not the family group sheets, so here are the notes on this couple, Wright Coates & Mary Gaunt. WRIGHT-GAUNT-NOTES: !SOURCE: Summer, George L. Helper" to return it to any descendents.] Daphne Christopher Crose, Arlington, TX wrote in part: In my research, I have letters from one of my relatives, in which she said that one of my cousins, Royce Christopher of Arlington, TX, & his wife Mildred were in possession of the COATES Bible. After the death of Royce & Mildred, their two daughters began an dispute over their estates. When I contacted one of the daughters in regard to the Bible, she said she did not know what happened to it, but she probably donated it to a mission. I have never seen it, & cannot identify it, but if it is the Bible she got rid of, I would like to know. I have the letter...CHRISTOPHER & COATE families intermarried a lot in the 1700/1800. My G-grandmotherwas a COATS, daughter of Daniel, who was the son of Wright COATS of Newberry SC." Hope this answers the question! JRC
