Wife and I were visiting the Courthouse in Eutaw, AL, where I found those land records. Come to think of it, John R. may have been John Rosbura Coats, the ancestor of Odessa Coats Collins, who wrote the Coate, Coates, Coats book. I've been so busy fighting off hospital bills and insurance companies, I hate to open those files again. I just start chasing rabbits. I made copies of numerous land transactions, but I don't believe they were between those two families, but I may be wrong. There is no substitute for "boots on the ground", when looking for original records, so we may be able to go there again, and organize the work better. There is so much info, I'm having a hard time coordinating it, especially in chronological order. John W
