Secondly, in order to purchase a copy of a county microfilm reel, you must obtain the permission of the County Clerk. That permission letter must be forwarded to The Library of Virginia with your request. The fee for duplicate microfilm is $50 per reel. Due to the heavy volume of reference requests received each year, Archives Research Services is unable to accept or respond to e-mail reference requests.
