I'm Sandy Coats, charleston, illinois. No one in my family knows my Great Great Grandfather's name. We thought that it was Samuel but have recently found pictures showing that Samuel was a step-father. My GG Grandpa married Nancy Wilson, b-day 8-21-1849. He died in a coal mine accident at the mammoth caves either right before his son was born or right after. Fredrick Coats was born 3-5-1875. Nancy married Samuel Kennedy and had 4 more children. I also know that Fred was little he used to play in the caves on his farm that was on the Green River and connected to the Mammoth Caves. Does anything ring a bell? Can you help me?
