I found this in the 1850 Catahoula Parish,LA Census #74-74 Page 10 Morgan Coats 48 M planter from S.C. George 25 M Ga. Wm. J. 22 M Ga. Harriett 19 F Ga. John 18 M Ga Catherine 16 F Ga. Frances E. 12 F Miss. Living next door to Thomas Rawlings age 24 M Planter La. Morgan Coats age 48 wouldn't have to have my Grandfather Simeon Thomas as a Witness to him being 21 years of age. I believe this Morgan must have had a son Morgan Coats that married in 1851 to Sophiah Rawlings Note: that this Morgan Coats is from SC and he lived in Mississippi in 1836. There is a possiblity that Morgan is a relation to Austin Coates. I feel before coming to Mississippi from SC that Austin Coates family probably went to Georgia as did not that travelled from SC to Mississippi. Robbie
