O.K. guys. We now have enough DNA to say it's likely that James Robert Coats b. 1785 in NC or SC and Maj. John Coats b. 1783 were either brothers or 1st cousins for them to be related within 8 generations. Any ideas? Linda Coate

He married Josephine Elizabeth Webster who was apparently from the Olde 96th District, which is South of Newberry. I'm thinking if someone hires a genealogist from Newberry, and or the 96th, maybe we could solve this puzzle. > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COATES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > >
