It is a "ruined castle" -- only a built-up mound and evidence of walls -- two walls were apparantely still visible. I'll see if I can find the info. It came from Scottish researcher's web site. I've been a member of a local Caledonian Society group for a number of years -- their library is chock full of information about family names, including the Coats.
