Robert Webb (#12828) Aug. 18, 2003 stated the following: The newspapers date back to around 1835 and were readily accessable to researchers in Clark County. I found a number of errors in the reporting which has led to much confusion. I found that Caroline is a Granddaughter of Hendley, not Daughter. William Coate was the guardian of Caroline and gave her share of Hendley estate upon her Marriage. Wiliam Coate was administrator of Henley'estate. He eventually turned over the monies to James McIntire, son in law of Robert Webb who distributed it to 11 heirs,not listed. Doctor,maybe Docton, was a son of William. 1850 census Clark Co Alabama Hendley Webb's children: 1. William 74/ Sarah --- 65 Household 154 2. Nancy "Fannie" 60/ Drury Allen 73 Household 401 3.
