Susan and Anne...there is also a William Coats in Northern Liberties as I recall...there is also a William Coats connected with Warrick Coats in the PA area...seems I found them listed in some Revolutionary transcribed records.... There is also a Colonel William Coats in the American Revolution from this PA area, who was taken prisoner during the American Revolution as well...not sure they're all the same William, but have you run across any of this in your research?? I have been trying to hold off looking into the many William Coates until last as they seem to be a confusing bunch. Warwick and Warrick are two separate persons - research states that Warwick was named for his grandfather Hale and connects to John Coates who immigrated from England to Philadelphia before 1710 - I am unsure of Warrick's origin but I think he is connected to the Moses Coates group immigrating from Ireland about 1717. I often visit your wonderful website containing images of the original documents. I only wish it offered copies of the Isaac Coates will of 1786 and Abraham Coates will of 1804 so a comparison could be made of inheritances which might clear up some of my confusion about Isaac. Does anyone on the list possibly have copies of the full wills of Isaac Coates proved 1786 & Abraham Coates proved 1804 that they would be willing to share?
