Well, I'll tell you, I've not been able to get into hotmail to send any messages all day...and now I've forgotten what I was going to say...<g>... Nancy Baker Coats - Rev William Coats wife...found her estate papers along with a few others I'll let below...anyway, in those she received an inheritance from a John Baker in Tenn...so for those of you in this line, remember that John Baker in Smith County, TN...well, there's got to be a connection...although it doesn't say, where in Tenn John Baker was from, to leave her part of estate, she must have been a sister or niece or something...he apparently died before she did, so his estate was giving the gift, so when she died about the same time 1849, the gift went to her kids that were still living and the grandchildren of those that were deceased...these estate papers are kina cool, they list the heirs at the beginning, well for most of them except of course James Coats, who died in 1822, Marshall's father...anyway Rev William Coats and Nancy's kids in 1849: William Coats, James Coats, heirs (I'm assuming the heirs means the child was deceased), Mary Agee, heirs, Nancy Cal! laway, heirs, John Coats, heirs, Wilson Coats, Rachel Reed, Loadicy Phillips, Tabitha Callaway, Francis Laughlin, heirs, Mahaly Dodds, Hiram Coats and Lemuel Coats...so James, Mary, Nancy, John and Francis Coats were deceased by 1849... Here's the Coats estates I've gotten so far: L.B. Coats, Nancy Coats, John Coats, James Coats of 1822, Marshall S. Coats, and Sylvester Baker's estate...I've gotten the index figured out so should be able to get more of these.... CharGet more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
