FYI.... I don't know...someone better give Ancestry some competition before they get to be like eBay...:) Char ----Original Message Follows---- From: William L Harvey <[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: Ancestry.com Surname Message Board Policy? Was : [DNA] Rootsweb DNA List Advertising and Posting Policy Date: Thu, 21 Oct 2004 21:46:09 -0700 Ancestry.com has apparently made a concerted effort to seek out and remove all messages dealing with DNA including surname message board responses posted by interested board members. My first and only announcement posting for Harvey surname project was made in March - it was removed yesterday. My only announcement posting for Asbill surname project was placed in Sept.. There this a.m. - removed tonight. There was no mention of price in these postings but the URL for each surname page was included - using FTDNA's free "results" website - as was my e-mail address. I do not feel these messages were off-topic nor did they violate any of the message board rules/policy even as it is stated this evening. Something malevolent must have occurred just recently to have created such a violent and all-inclusive reaction. Is there some way to find out what gives?
