Since many Coates families tie into this line (particularly those out of the Miami Co. OH area), I wanted to pass this along. Back in April 2009 the Jay Family Association (JFA) published an article to its membership pertaining to the following.... "DNA has now confirmed that Thomas JOY of Hingham, Massachusetts is not an immigrant ancestor to the JAY family in America." In addition, the Jay family DNA project and other related family genealogy will be discussed at length at the annual Jay Family Reunion scheduled for October 16-17, 2009 in Troy, OH.
