There is more information in Jordan's "Colonial Families," 1911, vol I, p. 653. The Samuel Coates mentioned as executor was Elizabeth Coates Paschall's nephew (8/24/1748 - 6/5/1830). The other Samuel Coateses in this family were not alive or not of age in 1787. The Thomas Coates from whom the land was bought was almost Elizabeth's father who came from Sproxton, England and who married Beulah Jacques.
