Through the LDS site, http://www.familysearch.org, I have discovered that the IGI has a marriage record for Howell Jarrett and Jane Smiley Coates in 1778 in Sussex Co., VA. Has anyone seen this record? It seems reasonable to assume that Jane's family was in Sussex Co. or vicinity at the same time.
