To be honest... John Coates 1684-1760 (wife Mary) was a brother of my Thomas Coates 1682-1772 so I have not spent a huge amount of time tracing John's descendants. John & Mary's children were named in John's 1754/1760 will and I was able to supplement the personal information using various reference materials in my collection. But I can offer no further information on John s/o John & Mary at this time. I do know that if a son was not given land/possessions to enable him to prosper in the family location he would often move to a location offering a better future. I took a very quick look at the children's gifts from John's will (excuse any errors) - John was a brick maker in city of Philadelphia, PA, wife was not mentioned children received....
