Well, when I can't sleep at night it's because I'm trying to piece this family together...<g>... But I was thinking .... that area of KY where the William Coats signs the petition to the VA Assembly was VA prior to 1790... I'm thinking this William Coats is the same William Coats that shows up in Summer County or Davidson County TN with the Rev Pension Records married to Susan Dismark...their son Austin... There appear to be two William Coats who fought in the Rev from VA...one died in VA and I believe the William in TN that his pension records state he fought in VA as well.... So I'm thinking we might have found the William Coats of KY, who petitions the VA Assembly but then later moves to TN...perhaps this is why we can't find a record of him in KY...he might also have a brother Henry or son Henry...
