Well, still looking at those Rowan County NC deeds...but still no Coats in there....the SC Equity records haven't come in yet... Also got the Hopewell MM, records from Fredericks County VA... And found another book of KY land records...it shows that a George and Samuel Coats got military warrants for service in VA but the land was in KY...now Samuel I believe was a Seaman in the Navy and George was in a State line or something... Anyway, George's is dated 1783 and Samuel's is dated 1784...so during that periord of time KY was still part of VA...doesn't say where the land is located though...
