They have a wonderful oil painting done by E. C. Coates. The card by the painting stated he was an active artist between the years of 1837-72. Does that ring a bell with anyone? Look at: http://www.oxfordgallery.com/Period_Artists/coates.html There are two paintings shown and the info on the artist shows that he was born in PA. They show 1846-1921 at the top of the page under his name, but that does not makes sense, because they show he exibited as early as 1831. He was also known as Edmund C., Edmund F., and Edward Coates, (good luck).
