    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: CPBeverly@aol.com Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2000 7:33 AM To: coats@hotmail.com Subject: COATES, Nathaniel Hello, I am looking for information on Nathaniel and Henry Coates. This is my husbands line, and I don't have very many particulars about them. Nathaniel was married to Martha Lamar in Wilkes County, Georgia. Henry Coates was the father of Nathaniel. The information I was sent, says Nathaniel was born in Virginia and his mother was Sarah Young. Is this correct? I would really like to know more about this family, for my children's interest and my own. 2. * Charlotte
    3. Some observations in reference to the Ben Coats, jr deed I mentioned before in Bedford County TN, the witnesses were: William Coats, William Gore and a McCuistion (sp) - this deed was signed in June of 1817 and recorded in Sept of 1817 Rev William Coats in Smith county moved to MO in 1817 as well, but his deeds are dated January of 1817 and March of 1817 the latter recorded in April of 1817...so he would have been gone from TN before June of 1817.... So this would distinquish Rev William Coats from this William Coats in Bedford County... Also the fact that the deed says Ben, jr. would indicated his father was a Benjamin as well... 3. I've found another 1817 deed for a Benjamin Coats in 1817, says he is from Bedford County TN and calls him a junr...James Tucker to Benajmin Coats, junr, a lot in Shelbyville TN, Bedford County... These conveyances again like the Newberry Deeds are not the same as the ones that are in the Coats Archive...they're all deeds but apparently different records than the Bedford County conveyances that I have... I don't have it copied yet but will.... Charlotte___________________________________________________________ Get more from your time online. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

She m Joseph DAWBIN in Chedzoy, Cornwall. Elizabeth was born 1832 in Aller, Somerset. I would like more info on her as I have been able to go back with Joseph's family into the early 1700s where his ancestor was Lord of the Manor . Elizabeth told my grandmother that she was related to the Coats Cotton people but I do not know exactly how the relationship goes. I only add that bit of info because it may help to narrow the search. Elizabeth thought enough of the name to give it to a couple of her children as a middle name. She also called her favourite son Thomas Hole Dawbin. Makes me wonder if the Hole was also a surname in her family ??? If any of this info sounds familiar please let me know. I have been told to contact a man by the name of Edward Coats SiNKER but so far I have not found any address for him...have you heard of him ???
