I've got to run to the library and pick up a book, I put on hold there...so will post more Coates' out of Harlan book when I get back I've also sent to the Jefferson County GA, probate judge a request for permission to get those will microfilm out of Jefferson County, GA at the GA State archive...the State Archive is also sending me the roll numbers for the land records there...what they sent me before was just a listing of what records they have for each county...but apprently for any of the Will records in GA you need the probate judge permission from that county you want the Wills from... Hello, I have Nathaniel Coates, who married Martha Lucinda Lamar, in Wilkes County, Georgia. I have very little information on him; most of what I have comes from their descendents. I would love to have more about him. The information I have has him(Nathaniel Coates) born in Virginia, and the son of Henry Coates and Sarah Young. The only date I have is for a daughter, Sarah Coates, born in 1774. I was unable to access the site you told me about previously. Is there an alternate route? Thanks. Connie Parnell-Beverly

Someone is looking for a Webb Coats connection I think, found this in Alpheus Harlan's book on the Harlan family... The Webb Family - Richard Webb was a settler in Birmingham Township, Chester Co., PA in 1704. He came from the city of Gloucester, England, to Philadelphia in 1700. His wife, whose name was Elizabeth, was a noted Friends' Minister, and had visited the colony of William Penn in 1697/98. She paid a visit to her native land in 1710. Richard Webb d in 1719, and was probably buried in Birmingham Friends' Burying Grounds. He was a farmer in Birmingham Township and an active public citizen, and for a time a Justice of the Peace. He had issue: 1. Wiliam d. about 1753; m Rebecca Harlan 2. Mary d 1743 m. George Brown, John Willis, Thomas Smith 3. Esther m Jacob Bennet 4. Sarah m William Dillworth 5. Daniel m Mary Harlan he died about 1741 6. Benjamin d 1725 m Rachel Nicklin 7. Elizabeth died young 8. James b 1708 d 1785 marred three times removed to Lancaster Co.
