    3. Thanks Linda for the heads-up. There have also been hackers in some of the South Carolina sites. I received two from the Coates list yesterday and one from a South Carolina list today. I just hit the delete key. Martha Coates On Apr 8, 2011, Linda Coate <lcoate@ancestrees.com> wrote: We received a message in our Coates-L box that was from [1]jcoley64@aol.com. 1. [COATES] Fwd: Introducing the new Y111 test at Family Tree DNA
    2. Linda Coate
    3. For those of you whom have a close match to another person at 67 points of DNA, this new upgrade will enable you to know more closely how you are related. I hope this finds everyone well. Enjoy. Linda -------- Original Message -------- We are excited to announce the launch of our new Y-DNA111 test! This test includes a panel of 111 Y chromosome Short Tandem Repeat (STR) markers.* With 44 additional markers, Y-DNA111 is the highest resolution Y-DNA test offered by any company in the world. The Y-DNA111 test is recommended for customers who already have close matches at the 67 marker level and are looking to tighten the calculation for the time to Most Recent Common Ancestor (tMRCA).** Due to the specialized nature of this test and in order to evaluate the potential benefit of this type of upgrade, we ask that customers with Y-DNA12, 25, or 37 results upgrade to 67 markers first before considering the 111 marker test. With that in mind, this new test is now available as an upgrade for customers with existing Y-DNA67 results and also as a standalone test for individuals looking to prove a close relationship on the direct paternal line: *Y Refine 67 to 111 (Upgrade)* $101 *Y-DNA111* $339 *View our FAQ section to learn more* <http://www.familytreedna.com/faq/answers/default.aspx?faqid=8#511> about this new test. Thank you, Family Tree DNA /*This figure is based on the typical number of allele values we see for multi-copy markers. The number of allele values we observe and report for these markers may vary. **Please note, both test-takers must have the 111 marker test to be compared at this level./ Family Tree DNA

    1. [COATES] updated Coates DNA page
    2. Linda Coate
    3. Hi everyone..... I just updated our DNA page and FamilyTreeDNA is using a new set up. You'll notice that everyone has a linked kit number. If you haven't submitted any info that you want linked there, then simply click on your kit number and it will take you to your log-in for Familytree DNA. If strangers click on those links, it will give them the link they need to join. See what you think. Feedback is appreciated, particularly if you find any errors. Thanks. 3. Thomas Benton Coats was my 2nd Gr-grandfather...but it must be another Thomas than the one you are referring to. What is the name of your Thomas' father? Thanks, Audrey Staples -----Original Message----- From: coates-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:coates-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Linda Coate Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2010 10:39 AM To: Coates-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [COATES] Updated Coates DNA page Hi everyone. I finally got an update to our Coates DNA page. We have some interesting new additions. Check the Robert Coates of Lynn, Mass. and the Wiley Coates groups. If you have a kit number up, would you please check your kit link to see that it contains the information you wanted. Does anyone have evidence that Needham Coats, b. 1831 in Tennessee and Thomas Benton Coats, b. 1838 in Tennessee are brothers. They have an exact DNA match and were cousins for sure. They are in Wiley's group. Thanks.
