My father, Dale Clouse, was born in Miller, South Dakota. His father, William Alexander Clouse, was born in Ree Heights, South Dakota. That is were birthplaces ends. I recently learned that my great-grandfather had to change his name some at some time in the 1800s because there were people after him that wanted to kill him. His name was Joseph Alexander. It is rumored that he or his family was from Russia. Origianally from Germany. Thank you for any help you can give me.
