    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Klaus, Claus, Clouse, Schmidt, Neff, Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zIJ.2ACEB/313 Message Board Post: I am looking for the possible family of Michael Clouse who was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania about 1846. At some point in his life he moved west. In 1914, when his brother Herman passed away, he was listed in Herman's obituary as living in Denver, CO. But the 1920 census for Colorado does not show a Michael Clouse, nor does the 1910 Denver City directory. Michael's father was Michael Klaus (Claus/Clouse) born 11 JAN 1800. His mother was Maria Eva Schmidt Clouse, born 8 APR 1811. Both of his parent were born in Germany about the time of their marriage in the early 1830's. Michael had sisters, Elizabeth Neff (lived in IL) and Mary Schmidt/Smith (in PA), and brothers George (lived in IL), Herman, Joseph and Francis. Herman and Joseph both died bachelors. The last census information I have for George in 1900 shows him to be a single man. If Michael married and had children, he and Francis were the only two to produce heirs to the Klaus/Claus/Clouse name. Appreciate any help anyone can give! Thanks!
