Hope you can help. Please email me at JCRausch@aol.com if you have even a tidbit of info for me. My tree begins with Michael Klaus, b 1/11/1800, d. 9/7/1887. He immigrated to the US from Hessen German about 1838. He married Maria Eva Schmidt (date unknown) who was b 4/8/1811, d. 1/26/1891. They had 9 children. The name Klaus was changed to Clouse sometime about late 1800's. From the land records we've found, the spelling fluctuates back and forth for a period of about 20 years, then seems to be solidly "Clouse" after 1900. Four of their children, George, Michael, Barbara and Magdalene, we know nothing about. We have some estimated birthdates: George - 1842, Michael - 1846, Barbara 1849, Magdalene - 1852.
