    1. RE: George W. Clouse in Indian Wars 1839
    2. Lavonne Of the George Washington Clouses in my file, there are three that could be the George in question. One was born ca. 1770 and is less likely to have joined the fight. He also had moved to Marion Co., TN before that time - ca. 1820. Another was his son, born ca. 1808 and also in Marion Co. at the mentioned time. These are my Clouses and I have no knowledge of their having been in the Indian Wars. The last, and most likely, was the son of William & Elizabeth Laudermilke Clouse and was born October 14, 1813 in Washington Co., TN. He married Nancy Ann McInturf in Knox Co., Tn in 1836 and died in Webster Co., MO April 02, 1889. I know of no Phoebe to be connected to any of the G. W. Clouses in my file. There was an Ables family in Marion Co., in 1850 and later. I know of no connection between these Ableses and my Clouses. You do not state whether or not your mentioned Phoebe was to have been married to George. Do you have them married???? Clouse who substituted for William Abell/Abel in Indian War 1840 at Fort Gibson, Indian Territory. Phoebe Holybee Abell was from Washington County, Tennessee so am interested in Clouse family from there too. Thanks for any help.
