I am aware of and have been able to obtain a copy of Pat Franklin's book, "Book of Remembrance of The Clouse Clan," and don't intend to disparage her work in any way, shape or form. Thank God for her work! However, I haven't been able to find George II on actual census images for 1830 and 1840. There is indeed a George Clouse listed in Marion County, but the ages are not correct for it be George Clouse II, born ca. 1770. It's possible I'm misreading the census, but it appears to me that a younger George Clouse (aged 15-20 in 1830 and 20-30 in 1840) and an older FEMALE (not MALE - maybe his mother?) shared a domicile in 1830. It also appears that the younger George Clouse had married and had children by 1840, although it appears likely that the same older FEMALE lived with him in 1840 as well. I can't find a George Clouse that is the appropriate age to be George Clouse II on the Marion County, TN census as Ms. Franklin states. Can someone point me in the right direction? In researching my Clouse family, I have found information that may indicate another location for him for those "missing" years and where he went from there, which was not Marion County, TN. Anyone interested in discussing this or who also may have different information, please contact me. Thanks.
