Ridge in Jackson County, AL in in 1859. James was killed in 1862 during the Civil War. Rachel married 2nd James Newton Hill in Jackson County, AL in 1867. James and Rachel migrated to Carroll County, AR soon after their marriage. Rachel did not have a brother named Oscar.
