Ken, I vote for John being the probable son of Mordecai and Rhoda Richard Cloud who married in 1753. This John married about 1797 to Ann McGuigen. He is therefore of an age to be a son of Mordecai/Rhoda. Mordecai and Sarah Chadd married in 1714 and I believe the John in question, if a son of Mordecai/Sarah, would be much too old to have married Ann McGuigen 83 years later and have a large family in the early 1800s.
