I have been following the discussion of Cloud families in Tennessee with interest as in my line, Elizabeth CLOUD, born about 1765, Stokes County, NC married Richard BONDURANTabout 1789 in NC. Their daughter, Jane Bondurant, was born about 1791 in North Carolina, but moved with her husband Nathaniel Barnes to Claiborne County, Tennessee, for a time, probably after 1810. Barnes was a Methodist minister, and Bondurant was a descendant of a Huguenot refugee who came into Virginia in1700. Probably they did not stay long in Tennessee as Barnes and Jane's parents all died in Hamilton County, Indiana. Elizabeth Cloud Bondurant had some familial connection to an Isom Cloud as shown by Indiana records, but I am unsure what the exact connection was. Does anyone have female descendants of Joseph or William Cloud of Stokes County, NC? I keep thinking that Elizabeth CLOUD, b. c. 1765, Stokes County, NC was probably a descendant of Joseph, but so far I have no proof beyond the fact that the given name Joseph was often used among descendants. I know of at least two Cloud-Bondurant marriages in addition to the one in my line. That fact and the coincidence of locations make me think that my line must connect to the other Clouds who went into Tennessee? Ron, are you including female descendants in your "entire picture" ?
