    3. Ron -- many thanks. I hadn't seen the will. Do you judge that the date (i.e., Sept. term, 1842) refers to the time it (the will) was probated? As we see, it was executed in 1839, so I can't see what alternative there might be to concluding that 1842 was the year in which it was probated and that therefore B. F. most likely died in 1842. As I said in my message, a CFA member who descends from this B. F's son William R. Cloud, seems convinced that he (B. F). was the son of William Rev. S. I know that she has done a lot of research, including a hands-on examination of available documents in Tazewell. One other point. I don't think your list of Susannah Bondurant Cloud's children included a Benjamin F., Jr., as have all other lists I've seen. Acc. to the group that runs the Claiborne Co. list on Rootsweb, the widowed Susannah was caught by the 1860 census in Webster Co., MO, where she was living with her son Benj. F. Cloud, a physician. The birth date I have for him is 1826, and acc. to what I have seen, he's the one who married Nancy Middleton.
