Hi, Recently, I bought a map of Stokes County, NC. As I was reading an article about Joseph Cloud, Sr., I was surprised to see the name of Joseph Watkins, Sr. there. I will quote here: QUOTE 1755 Joseph Cloud, Sr. buys 150 acres of land on the south side of Dan River from JOSEPH WATKINS, SR. Price 45 pounds of VA money. Witnesses, Richard Crunk, Elias Brock and Mary Crunk. Joseph Cloud became deputy surveyor. Apparently, six children grew to maturity, Joseph, Jr., Jason, Isaac, George, William and Nancy. UNQUOTE By any chance, do you have anything of Joseph Watkins, Sr. to share with me? Was he a Quaker? What was the relationship between Joseph Watkins, Sr. and Joseph Cloud, Sr.?
