Does anyone know anything about the Sam C. Slack who supposedly was in custody of the letter Daniel William Cloud wrote shortly before he died at the Alamo in March of 1836? The newspaper article says Sam C. Slack was a nephew of Daniel, apparently making him a son of John W. Slack, who married Daniel's sister, Clarissa H. Cloud. John W. Slack married twice (see link below), but nowhere can I find any Sam or Samuel Slack. I estimate Sam C.
