That way notes and, more importantly, sources are included. Even more important to me -- less typing, less chance of making typos ... though merging data is still onerous. ... but, data in text format is better than not having it. The mykindred site has a way for people to enter and edit data in real-time. I disabled that as it looked to me like a big mess waiting to happen -- how to be sure no mischief or mistrakes would corrupt the data. Also, how to keep the data and periodically merge duplicate entries (finding and merging duplicates is a great source of new clues -- you find links you didn't know existed!). Suggestions solicited, but it seems to me to be less likely to get messed up if the data is entered through one "portal" (me right now) rather than having numerous people making changes ... ???
All My data is rather extensive and most allof the Cloud info is presented on my web site at www.cloudweb.org . Althought I cannot vouch for any of the data on my site other than my own line I feel it represents a good starting point for many new researchers. The software I use is Ancestral Quest. This software offers a method of collaborating info with others who might be using AQ. Esentually the AQ data I have would be put on a site on the internet and others could look at it, make changes etc. No changes would be finalized until I have had a chance to review the changes. I would expect that my review would involve me checking with other Clouds concerning the changes. Just thought I would throw this out for your info. I in no way claiming to be an OFFICIAL Cloud website, just a facilitator I would hope of Cloud data.
