Joshua Cope is shown on the Bradford, PA Monthly Meetings as going to Frederick CO VA 1775 and the Hopewell MMs show this as well. Joshua Cope is on the 1768 Nantmill, Chester CO PA tax list. His father and brothers' are on the 1768 East Bradford, Chester CO PA tax list and on this tax list is a Ezekiel BOGGS. I still have not found out who the Michael COPE is listed on the 1768 Marple twp, Chester CO PA tax list , listed as a Freeman and a John FERREE is listed and don't know if he is related to John Ferree who marr. Ruth Buffington 10 Apr 1736 dau. of Ruth COPE & Thomas Buffington . Niell- info- On the Neill forum I found a listing for William Neill who marr. Mary Clinton in New Castle CO DE. I went to my books and found them listed in the Old Swede church records married 3 May 1750 and a Ezekiel BOGGS was Surety for this marriage. The Neills' believe this William Neill is a brother of John Neill and Lewis Neill of Frederick CO VA. The name of Archibald Clinton was listed and found his will 5 Sept 1746 London Brittian twp with dau. Mary Clinton. The Boggs show immigrant James Boggs of New Castle CO DE died 1737 White Clay Creek . I have a ton of Boggs in my New Castle CO DE deed books. One Ezekial Boggs lives in New Castle and found him on this deed- 16 Nov 1742 - Brandywine Hundred- John & Elizabeth FORD to Richard GRUBB- Wit: Adam BUCKLEY and Ezekiel BOGGS- You know the Grubbs are on the tax list with Oliver Cope Brandywine Hundred and that Adam Buckley bought the land in New Castle 1729 from John and brother William COPE. I typed Ezekiel Boggs on the Boggs forum and got 59 hits and his name is all over this country including 1782-1785 Greenbrier CO VA and Georgia 1800s. Question- who is Ezkeil Boggs and John Neal on the 1768 Bradford, PA tax list with John Cope and sons Joseph, Samuel and Nathan Cope. If you compare the 1768 Chester CO PA tax list with the 1768 Rowan CO NC tax list you will see dozens of families with the same surname including COPE, Linvill, Mendenhall, Buffington, Woodward, Thornbury/Thornborough, Neal/Niell/Nail, Fraizer- Note: I am charting a Alexander & Elizabeth FRAISER in Cecil CO MD North East River 12 Sept 1717 land to Henry WORLEY of Chester CO PA and land owned by Robert JONES who sold it to William FLOWER of Chichester, Chester CO PA and only surving son ENOCH FLOWER sold to Alexander Fraiser 12 Feb 1717. Wit: ABR'M HOLLINGSWORTH- he Frederick CO VA later , Stephen HOLLINGSWORTH and ANDREW JOB- Andrew JOB'S widow Elizabeth is on the 1722 East Nottingham tax list. Andrew JOB was a witness in 1695 of OLIVER COPE to Robert Pyle land in Birmingham. Note: when I see Chichester twp listed and think of William Cope listed there 1729. 1715 Chichester , Chester CO PA tax list has Upper and Lower Chichester- Hnery Worley is on the 1715 Chester Twp, Chester CO PA tax list with John LINVIL and Thomas Baldwin husband of widow Mary LINVILLE. The name of Alexander Frazier is on the 1715 Kennett , Chester CO PA tax list. Enoch Flower and Thomas LINVILL & wife Dinah Richards , James Whitaker & wife Mary Martin , Jeremiah CLOUD, Jeremiah Collett- this name is found in Cecil CO MD , William CHANDLER, Ruth Chandler BEZER ( Charity COPE'S Chandler family) are on the 1715 Upper-Chichester, Chester CO PA tax list. JOB Family- Andrew JOB has 2 children that married into the Robert McCoy family aka McKay and here he is in Cecil CO MD-19 July 1723 Cecil CO MD- Stephen HOLLINGSWORTH to Robert MAKEY/McKay/McCoy of Freehold, Monmouth CO. NJ 150 acres of land tract called Mount Pleasant. Wit: Jonathan Curus- could be Curtis, John Segar and John Smith.- JP- M.V. BABBER- this is Mathias Van Bebber from New Castle CO DE and Jacob & Fronica VanBebber are in the deeds for Cecil CO MD and he is the Ancestor of the VanBebber/VanBibbers' who married in to the Daniel Boone family. Robert McCoy/McKay and Stephen Hollingsworth hold joint land in Cecil CO MD and Robert McKay becomes VA land partner of Yost HITE . Stephen Hollingsworth and Mathias VanBebber are Justice of the Peace in Cecil CO VA and Stephen is still found on Quaker records in VA Dau. Lydia Hollingsworth marr. John Ross 11.10.1735 Hopewell Friends , Orange ( later Frederick ) CO VA. John Ross is listed son of Alexander Ross VA land partner of Morgan BRYAN. Last Stephen Hollingsworth- listed son of Henry 1696/97 Brandywine Hundred, New Castle CO DE . Abraham PENNINGTON ( an Indian Trader ) is listed in the Cecil CO MD deeds with the TEAQUES and Henry and Stephen HOLLINGSWORTH are on these deeds a JPs. This Pennington & Teaque family are found in the Frederick CO VA deeds 1743-1750s and they are on the 1768 Rowan CO NC tax list that has mostly Quakers. I have 2 Pennington families now on the 1768 Rowan CO NC tax lists and the other I believe are from NJ. Last- I rodered a book for NJ court records 1680 to 1707 and this should help me with the NJ families Iam working on. David
