His ancestral chart omits his g-g-grandfather, William Cloud, first son of Jeremiah and Elizabeth Cloud, who married Margaret Frizzle, daughter of Thomas Frizzle and Temperance "Tempy" Ellis. Tempy Ellis' story of being kidnapped by Indians was required reading for all public students in Alabama for many decades. Genl. Cloud's omitted 3rd great grandfather (my 4th g-grandfather), Thomas Frizzle, Tempy's husband, was murdered September 13, 1857 in Pike county Alabama. It was a crime so horrible that it was published in newspapers from Washington, DC, to Lousiana, Georgia and of course Alabama.
