    3. I found my sources. William Cloud, Sr. of Patrick County, VA appointed William Cloud of Hawkins County, TN to be his attorney for him in all his land affairs on the "Western Waters", state of Tennessee. The document was signed by William Cloud Sr. on March 28, 1808. It was witnessed by Phillip Penn and Thomas Whitlock. It was recorded during Patrick County, VA March Court term, 1808. Sources: Maud C. Clements, "The History of Pittsylvania County, Virginia" and Patrick County, VA Deed Book 3, p 117. I am still looking for my copy of William Cloud Sr.'s application for Rev. pension. I have researched Hawkins County, TN county and genealogy records. I have found records of William Cloud selling tracts of land along the Holston River, but none of the deeds of conveyance mention a power of attorney being used. William Morgan Cloud may have used his power of attorney after he moved to MO but I don't have a record of such use. RAYMOND SHIRLEY SR. rshirley@icx.net Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.
