I apologize for taking so long to update the DNA results. The results and the pedigree chart have been updated. Results: http://mykindred.com/cloud/dna/results/cdnareport.php Pedigrees: http://mykindred.com/cloud/dna/Pedigrees3.htm The new kit is #48334 -- it's at the bottom of both charts. To refresh how I've done this: The Pedigree chart shows the lines of each test kit -- organized as the submitted data indicates it should go. The lines at the bottom are those that cannot find evidence of their ancestry beyond what is shown. The Results page shows how each test compares to the others. The columns to the right show: - DIFF the simple difference between each test -- absolute value) - GenDis 12 right now this just shows the simple diff for 12 markers - GenDis 25 right now this just shows the simple diff for 25 markers - GenDis 37 right now this just shows the simple diff for 37 markers For example, to see how the new kit #48334 might fit into the family tree, click on it on the Results page. - since it only has 25 markers, the GenDis column for 37 markers is empty. - look for kits with the lowest numbers in the DIFF column. (The GenDis columns will, at some later date, show a computation for Genetic Distance.) #48344 results: - 0 difference with 34238 -- but that kit is only 12 markers, so it's not very definitive. - It has a simple DIFF of 2 with kit 35531, but that kit only has 12 markers also, so it's not very definitive. - A simple DIFF of 3 with kits 32519, 33084 and 32806. - A simple DIFF of 4 with kit 41880. A look at the Pedigree chart will show the lines this kit is more closely aligned with (those kits mentioned above). Note that the simple DIFFerences can be deceiving, and a Genetic Distance computation is available from Family Tree DNA that gives a much more accurate indication. thanks, Tom Cloud
