Isaac Drake of NJ moved to PA during the Rev. and enlisted under George Rogers Clark. He ended up in the Cincinatti area and lived for a number of years in Campbell CO, where he married Frances Monroe. He later moved to Howard CO, MO where he worked on the MO end of the Sante Fe Trail. > >A Jesse Drake was in Campbell CO about 1830-1850. His daughter, Delilah married a Sutton and they later moved to MO. > >My Drakes were just across the river in IN. Benjamin Drake, brother of my Jesse, had a daughter Nancy who married Joseph Nelson in either Campbell or Boone CO. Lots of Hoosiers crossed the river and married in KY, in either Campbell or Boone Counties. > >You're also in CLOUD Country. My 3rd great grandfather, Isaac Drake married Elizabeth Cloud in Boone County on Christmas Eve, 1834 (I think). Though bothweere from Rising Sun, Ohio CO, IN, there were a lot of Cloud families (including her grandparents) in Campbell CO and Boone and Kenton. Be careful when you walk though those cemeteries, my ancestors will be watching you. > >Barb > >Constance Frazier <genealogyjunky@mac.com> wrote: >It's so amazing to hear you all referring to my home state and Drakes! Maysville (once called Limestone) is about 30 minutes from me on the AA Hwy. It's a slice of irony to me that Mom is sitting here, a New England Drake, and down the road were Drake families! > >Constance
