I have posed these questions before on the Cloud GenForum site, and can't remember whether I have asked them on the Cloud Discussion List: 1. Who was the Nicholas Cloud(s) who was in Kent Co., Delaware selling 100 acres of a property (called Shearin, Sherer, Sharing or Sharon) from a 500 acre grant 8/25/1704? Inasmuch as our William of Calne's mother apparently was a Nycholas, the similarity of the names makes me wonder if he could have been a relative (brother?) of our William? 2. What happened to the Robert Cloud who migrated into Jamestown ca 1643? In Cavaliers and Pioneers, Patent Book No. 1, Part II, page 148, the following appears: "Rice Hoe: 1,969 acres., October 18, 1643, page 914. . . . . .1,000 acres by virtue of 2 former patents & for transfer of 20 persons: ........lists 16 people, including a Robert Cloud, and 4 Negroes." Again, as our William of Calne's father apparently was a Robert Cloud who was a son of a Robert Cloud, the similarity of names seems too much to be coincidental. I have never seen a report of what happened to the migrating Robert. Soooooo . . . . . does anyone out there have any other data on these gents?
