I have the genealogy of John Franklin Cloud of Jackson County, AL. Thomas was the youngest child of John and Eliza. Thomas was born in Jackson County in about 1853. I am looking for a Louisa (pronounced Lou-I-za [with a long i] M. Cloud. According to her death records she was born in Indiana to James Cloud (b) in Kentucky and mother unknown (b) in Virginia. Louisa was born in 1840 and married Julius Frederick Neefe, not sure of date nor place of marriage. Does any of this Cloud info fit in with any-ones Cloud info? I have William Sturdivant, born 1816, married Ruth Cloud, born 1816. They had 2 children, Martha F. Sturdivant, born 1840 in Surry, NC and Shepherd F. Dean, (1842-1904). Ruth died before 1850 and William married Caroline Bowers Jackson. They had 6 children: Mary, born 1852 in Surry, NC; James, born 1854 in Hamilton, IN; Albert H. born 1855 in Hamilton; Lucy E. born 1858 in Hamilton; Eliza born 1861 in Hamilton; Unknown Sturdivant born 1864 in Hamilton, IN. I am attempting my own homegrown genetic experiment. Do any of you Cloud family members have familial tremors commonly called "palsy?" I have it. My mother and her sisters had it. My Cloud grandfather and his brothers had it. Any Clouds who have it probably share a common ancestor with the defective gene. If you have familial tremors (its no disgrace) and are willing to share that information with me, I would like to hear from you. They were family number1108 and they had a son William, aged about right. Of course, I suppose Margaret may have been a later wife, since James was apparently married twice, secondly to a Patsy Watkins in 1837. I figured that Patsy and Margaret were probably the same but there may be actually a third wife.. By the way, I found a fifth wife for William T., a Sarah Sipes. Three of his wives did not live very long which is very interesting and I have some records from the Asylum in Indiana about William, if you are interested. Any chance that you located William's death record??? That would probably list his parents. I have that he died in Greene Co., Indiana but Greene Co., denies any records of any kind about William T. Cloud. He is buried there though. Thanks for replying.
